With 16 years of service in the UK police, I have three key, transferable skills:
1. Effective communication.
2. Risk management.
3. Complex decision-making and problem solving.
I have experience working with others at a senior management level as well as multi agencies on a local, regional and a national level.
I have managed and mitigated significant risk throughout my career.
I have reviewed and implemented change and new policies.
I can help you identify potential risks that may affect your company's performance and implement operational processes in adherence with your business requirements and regulations to manage and mitigate these risks.
I can help you identify risks you have not yet considered and create a framework to manage these risks, or I can help you to improve your current risk management processes e.g. safeguarding staff, complex investigations, financial risk.
Benefits to you:
1. Prevent reputational harm to your company.
2. Achieve your vision and strategic objectives.
3. Improve your knowledge, skills and capabilities in identifying and managing risk.
4. Become more confident in identifying and managing risk.
5. Become more efficient and effective.
I created Lifeline following my own mental health crisis in 2020.
To change the culture and stigma of mental health within any organisation it must be accepted that we are all vulnerable to it. I believe most absences from any workplace can be prevented if organisations listen to their people/teams sooner.
We all know that work must be completed, but when we are flexible with our staff and show we genuinely care for their wellbeing work will be completed, I believe, to a higher standard.
A business’ priority should always be the wellbeing of their staff, with a primary focus on proactively training managers and employees to spot the signs of poor mental health, to prevent their employee’s reaching CRISIS point.
When we focus on prevention and intervention, we are potentially SAVING LIVES.
Having early conversations will identify, manage, support and signpost the person to reach HELP.
I want to inspire others by holding talks on mental health so conversations in the workplace on mental health become ‘the norm’ rather than something to be ‘hidden’.
Recent mental health research from Deloitte has revealed that the cost to employers of poor mental health has increased, to up to £56bn in 2020-21 compared to £45bn in 2019. By investing in services that support your employee’s mental wellbeing the benefit are a happier and healthier workplace, staff feeling listened to and valued, a reduction in absences from work and a reduction in employment cost for recruitment, all of which mean greater performance for your business.
I am passionate about helping others. What I loved about policing was helping various communities and pushing myself to limits I could only imagine; whilst investing time in supporting and developing my teams that I was fortunate to supervise. Seeing them develop and grow as people is something you cannot put a price on.
Those I supervised have said: I am considerate, genuine, reliable, supportive, honest, approachable, visible.
I am passionate about how businesses treat their staff and one another.
I want to share the experience and knowledge I have gained over a long career in coaching and mentoring others; in developing, supporting, and helping hundreds of people achieve their life goals. I have a proven academic and investigative record, a passion for leadership and shaping the future of businesses and I will help you on your journey.
I look forward to working with you.
