Join me and other men at David Lloyd Southend the first Wednesday of every month, 7pm-9pm.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply walking through the door.

You just need to take that first step.

“I’m good now, but I know it’s there for me when I need it. That means a lot.”

That’s the power of the Lifeline Men’s Peer Group. A team of men who understand, listen, and support each other through life’s challenges. No judgement. No pressure. Just connection, and support when it’s needed most.

You matter.

LIFELINE IN NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS

The Sun's Impact: Initially starting as raw, personal journal entries to process Darren's crisis, his writing evolved into a published memoir.

Following The Sun's review, the story went viral, transforming his personal reflections into a major national headline that exponentially expanded his mental health advocacy community.

The Core Message: The book serves as a literal "LIFELINE" for first responders and anyone battling silent trauma, emphasising that asking for help is a sign of immense courage.

One day became one week. One week became one month. One month became one year.

Now, 1,000 days later, I can’t believe this miles stone for me and my family.

I’m so grateful that my prayers were answered and I don’t turn to drink in the tough moments life throws at us all.

WALK. TALK. SAVE LIVES.

In April 2026 I walked 16 miles a day for 16 days, to raise awareness and funds for Mind, supporting children's mental health.

Every day in the UK, 16 people die by suicide.

One every 90 minutes.

This was never a solo walk, it’s an invitation to the community to walk beside someone. To start a conversation and create connection so nobody feels alone.

It was not about endurance alone, but about connection and visibility.

I was sponsored by David Lloyd Southend and we collaborated with South East and Central Essex Mind and CrossFit Rayleigh.

Every pound raised will go towards supporting young people who are struggling.

The goal is simple but powerful:

To give children the tools, support and confidence to build a more positive future into adulthood.

" You inspired me more than you know."

WALK. TALK. SAVE LIVES.
